The Headboard Part II

The Headboard...

Its not done yet.. so this is kind of a teaser... but..

So this is the door... It is just a french door that we found at Habitat for Humanity.. ( awesome place, fyi)

And the plan it to rough it up a little.. cut some off and make it a headboard.. ready?

Had to pop the trim board off.. bought a piece of crown molding to go over that end to cover the knob hole...

And then, tape the edges for paint...

Paint....

And I wanted it to look older... so.. see below for the abuse.. it's hard to tell really... in these pictures...

Basically took the sander to it to rough it up a bit....

And then.. I had to move it inside.. because I don't know if you all know about the bugs in Florida right now.. but... They are bigger than my dogs... so.. I brought it in and pulled the tape off...

If I like the modern look at all... I would leave the paint squares.. but.. I don't soooooooo.. the paint came off... and the cedar boards when behind it...

Now.. I am just arranging the cedar boards behind it... I'm not sure how we want to set it up completely.. still working on that..

Standby ......Finished product should be up in the next few days....

The beginning...

At the advise, and or insistance, of others.. this is the beginning of a blog...

We will see how long I can keep my attention here.. as I update my basic general life...
